Historically, flowers have been favorite subjects of art and artists. Though flowers are fragile, and their life fleeting, they are, in fact, three-dimensional. This solidity and character must be respected and achieved by artists, or the resulting artwork may be only superficially decorative, more like wallpaper than painting. The two angels are from a series that were a natural extension of studying the stars."
